"My friend was visiting Yantai and asked me to book a guesthouse for them. This place has a great location, very close to Chaoyang Street and Suochengli, and it's less than a five-minute walk to the beach. The room facilities and bedding were quite clean and tidy. The guesthouse manager was also very responsive, which made everything hassle-free. Plus, the price was reasonable, and the view from the window was quite impressive and grand."
Marriott Yantai
"The Marriott costs 1300 per night, but from my experience, I feel that 1000 RMB accounts for the prime beachfront location and amenities, and 300 RMB is for the room itself. On the first day, we found that the electric curtains would get stuck halfway 8 out of 10 times. Also, the door lock was broken; once closed, it couldn't be opened. So for all three nights, we only locked the red and black latch at the top, not the doorknob. It didn't significantly affect our stay, so we just put up with it. We stayed during the weekdays between Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, so it was already very crowded. Both breakfast and dinner required long queues to get in. There weren't enough high chairs for babies, and getting food felt like a scramble. I recommend going for breakfast early, otherwise, you might not get a table and end up sitting at temporary tables next to the elevator. The potstickers at breakfast were delicious, but each person could only take three at a time. Remember to queue for them. HOUSEKEEPING didn't clean proactively. We left at 10 AM and returned at 3 PM, and the room was exactly as we left it. We had to call the front desk to request housekeeping services. The toilet doesn't have a proper door; the sliding door only provides privacy, but no soundproofing or odor isolation. If your child's father is doing his business in there, you'll experience the whole thing from outside. They don't proactively provide children's amenities. You can call to request kids' slippers, but I'm not sure about anything else. For dinner, I bought the seafood buffet. It was only slightly better than breakfast. There were no crayfish or anything like that. That day, I saw other guests complaining to a manager, accusing them of fraud, sigh. Don't bother with the hotel's photo shoot service... The day we went, it was a freezing 18 degrees Celsius. We went out with our child planning to take five group photos and quickly return to the room. The photographer insisted on shooting on the beach. I said I didn't want to go to the beach because of the strong wind and waves, as I didn't want my child to get sick. But the photographer said he had a quota and couldn't leave until he took 50 photos. I braved the strong wind on the shore and cooperated for some pictures. My child started sneezing and was clearly freezing, so I quickly took her away. This part was quite frustrating. They market it as a complimentary service, but it's really about generating business for the hotel. It felt somewhat forced. For anyone wanting to take photos, I suggest booking a professional studio yourself. Food deliveries don't come by robot. They are all left at a designated delivery point on the first floor for self-pickup. Several times, the elevator wouldn't recognize the room card. Guests who stayed on the same date probably had similar feedback. Now for some good points: THE HOTEL'S LOCATION IS REALLY EXCELLENT. You can exit through the back door without passing through busy streets. After crossing a square by the shore, and exiting through the hotel's side door, it's a 5-minute walk to the beach. For those who love collecting seashells, you can head to the beach as soon as the tide is right – it's that close. Downstairs, there are 'Baga' electric scooters provided by an external company. They're quite fun, 100+ RMB per hour. It's expensive but genuinely enjoyable. You can ride all the way to the 'Lonely Whale' sculpture. They provide a complimentary sand-digging toy set for children upon check-in. They also provide bed rails."

Additionally, the curtains in this room type don't block out any light at all, so by 7 AM, the room is completely bright."
