"Overall Experience: My stay was defined by a feeling of tranquil escape. The hotel's greatest strength is its atmosphere. Being in a historic building tucked away in a quiet, leafy neighborhood just off the famous Nanjing Road created a perfect balance. I could easily walk to the buzz and shopping, but returned each time to a serene, garden-filled sanctuary. It felt more like a peaceful retreat than a standard city hotel. Service: The service was consistently attentive and polite. Staff were professional and quick to help with requests. The check-in and check-out process was smooth. While the service wasn't overly familiar, it was reliably good and matched the hotel's calm, understated style. I felt well taken care of. Facilities: The facilities are well curated but compact, focusing on quality over quantity."

"The hotel was easy enough to find for a hotel the has a reception on the 4th floor and no signage out front. The location is prime for access to the pedestrian road. Lots of sightseeing and shopping in this area. Short drive to all the key tourist hotspots. Beds were comfortable, staff were great to foreigners like us, breakfast was fine. The only thing of notes was we had no luck using the dryers and resorted to hanging out our clothes in our room. But this is a minor issue and may be operator error. We would stay at the Yitel premium again."

"It took me a long time to choose a hotel for our first stay in Shanghai, and I am so pleased with Chalet Hotel as our stay! The location is so convenient and close to many shops and The Bund. The hotel itself is comfortable and full of amenities. The shower was nice and had plenty of hot water. Honestly, one of the best stays I’ve had while traveling in a major city considering the price, location, and service. The hotel staff were always accommodating and Lin Feng at the front desk made sure our check out and hotel pick up for the airport went smoothly. I don’t think I’d want to stay anywhere else near the Bund after experiencing Chalet Hotel. And the food delivery robot was a cute plus!"

Hotel near People's Square Area,Shanghai
The hotel is located in the central area of Shanghai People's Square and Nanjing Road, adjacent to the Bund and Huaihai Middle Road Commercial Street. The hotel is located in the central area of Shanghai People's Square; adjacent to Shanghai Grand Theater and Shanghai Museum; about 10 minutes walk to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and Huaihai Road Business District; about 15 minutes walk to the Bund, Yu Garden, Yunnan Road Food Street, Xintiandi and other famous tourist attractions; about 10 minutes walk to Metro Line 1, 2, 8 People's Square Station. About 10 minutes walk to Changzheng Hospital.

"Our stay at the Meiliju Hotel (People's Square branch) in Shanghai was fantastic overall! First off, the location is unbeatable – right in the heart of the city, making travel incredibly convenient. The hotel itself is spacious, and there's a charming outdoor courtyard, perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The front desk staff were exceptionally friendly, and I was immediately charmed by the cute little panda decorations. Our room was at the end of the corridor, and to our surprise, it had a private door that opened onto a balcony as large as the room itself. This offered amazing views and plenty of space to move around. The room also thoughtfully provided a care package, showing great attention to detail. There were quite a few foreign guests at the hotel, and when we checked out, the staff even gave us hand towels. Although we didn't order breakfast, we saw that it was quite affordable, around 30-something yuan, and could even be delivered to the in-room bar. Plus, they use Luckin Coffee beans now for their coffee. One minor drawback was the construction happening in the adjacent building, which caused a bit of noise in the mornings. However, the hotel thoughtfully provided 3M earplugs, which effectively mitigated the sound – truly a considerate touch. A quick heads-up: there's another branch of the same brand within two to three kilometers, so be sure to double-check you're ordering takeout to the People's Square branch to avoid misdelivery. Overall, the value for money and the experience were both excellent. Highly recommend!"

The hotel is located at 1226 Chuannanfeng Road in Pudong New Area, near Chenyang Road, in the middle of Pudong International Airport and Disney Tourist Resort. "I had a red-eye flight back from my trip, and instead of taking an expensive taxi home while exhausted, I decided to book a hotel with a shuttle service. This way, I could get some rest and head back to the airport for the subway home once I was refreshed. I initially thought 'Vienna' sounded like a privately run guesthouse, but I was pleasantly surprised from the moment I was picked up. Instead of a beat-up van, it was a clean and tidy mini-van. The driver was very polite, there weren't many people in the car, and it was a quick ten-minute ride to the hotel. The lobby had a nice atmosphere, and the staff weren't at all tired despite it being early morning. They stood up to check us in as soon as they saw us. We were lucky enough to get a free upgrade to a family room, which was larger and quieter at the end of the hallway. I then discovered the hotel is part of the Jinjiang Group, a state-owned enterprise, which explains the significant investment. They use a mini-van for early morning pickups and a large Yutong bus for daytime transfers. The hotel has a small gym and laundry room. The room itself was quite spacious, much bigger than express hotels in the city center. The bottled water was Nongfu Spring, and after returning from Queen's Palm Hotel in Hainan where they only provided additive-laden water like Ice Dew, this detail really impressed me. They even thoughtfully provided disposable toilet seat covers and child-friendly toiletries (something even Hainan didn't have), with toiletries that felt like a full care package. The room was spotlessly clean; I deliberately touched the floor, and there was no dust on my hand, which is truly commendable! The shower stall also had no residual water stains or hair. There was a QR code on the wall for feedback, showing their commitment to service. As a Trip.com member, I opted out of breakfast. After all the discounts, the room cost 240 RMB, and I could check out at 2 PM. I slept in until noon, ordered takeout, and then took the shuttle back to the airport for the subway home. My child was happy, feeling like we had another day of vacation. I slept very well with no noise disturbance. It was a very satisfying stay. Just two small suggestions: The faucet in the sink is too close to the basin's edge, so water splashes out every time you use it. I had to use a bath towel to block and absorb the water. Also, it would be great to have a high-powered domestic hairdryer, like a Leifeng, and perhaps a stand to secure it so it doesn't get taken. That would further improve the experience. Overall, I still want to praise the hotel; it was a very satisfying stay."

GGuest UserThis hotel feels more like a budget inn. There's no proper lobby, just a check-in desk and a small waiting area. It's a bit of a distance from Yu Garden, about an 8-minute drive or an 18-minute walk. However, it's right next to a bus stop, making it convenient to get to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. The staff were very warm and attentive, and they even offered free late-night snacks, which was a nice touch.

GGuest UserThis hotel's cleanliness is absolutely amazing! The rooms are spotless, the beds are impeccably tidy, and you won't find a speck of dust even in the nooks and crannies. The bathroom is pristine, with the toilet and sink gleaming, and all the disposable toiletries are perfectly packaged. After check-out each day, the cleaning staff meticulously cleans, even sanitizing and wiping down high-touch areas like remote controls and doorknobs. This almost-fanatical standard of hygiene makes for a truly reassuring and comfortable stay. I highly recommend it to anyone who prioritizes health and cleanliness!

__WeChat8345****The location is incredibly convenient! It's just a 5-minute walk to the subway station, which makes catching the high-speed train or visiting city attractions super easy. There are plenty of malls, convenience stores, and various restaurants nearby, so you don't have to go out of your way for shopping or dining. It's perfect for both business trips and short getaways. The fact that it's located in a quiet spot despite being in the bustling city is a huge plus. After a busy day navigating the city, you can return to the hotel and escape the noise, enjoying a peaceful and restful time. The cleanliness and hygiene really instill a sense of security – germophobes will be thrilled! You can walk barefoot on the floor all day without encountering a speck of dust, and even the corners are spotlessly clean. The bedding is pristine white and soft, with a fresh, sun-kissed scent when you get close. Towels are strictly changed, disinfected, and sealed in bags for each new guest, only to be opened upon check-in. Even the inside of the electric kettle is free of limescale, showing meticulous attention to detail. The bathroom sink sparkles, and the smart toilet is a pleasure to use. The thorough disinfection work ensures a very reassuring stay.

GGuest UserThe front desk staff were really great; one of the male staff even gave me hot mineral water and local specialties when I left. When I couldn't get the hot water to work in my room, a female staff member was quick to help, and they personally delivered my takeaway orders to my room. There's also hot coffee available in the lobby. The hotel's close proximity to the subway is another plus. The only downsides were having to get up early for breakfast to avoid queuing for a table, and there's only one elevator. The room was a bit small and the facilities were older, but it was very clean and quiet. Also, it looked like some of the toiletries had been used, but thankfully I hadn't brought many of my own. Overall, it was a comfortable stay.

XXiaojunpocheOverall, my stay was quite good. On the day I checked in, my ring mysteriously disappeared. After searching for a long time with no luck, I called Niki from customer service to help me look, wondering if it had fallen into some crevice I didn't know about. We finally found it inside the pillowcase—it must have slipped through a small tear in the fabric. I never thought to look there since I hadn't opened it. I really appreciate Niki helping me search for so long. The hotel might be a bit older, as some facilities had issues. I communicated with Max, and he ran back and forth multiple times to resolve the problems. While the hotel's hardware might be fixed, good service often makes all the difference, and this return visit was definitely a good experience thanks to the staff. On a side note, I have a small suggestion: for the area near the front desk that seems like an executive lounge for afternoon tea, when guests enter, please don't be so rigid and tell them they need to go sit on the sofa outside in the lobby because it's closing. It would be more acceptable to explain that it's a paid service or requires consumption to enter. I was with elderly family members, and older generations are used to being frugal; we often don't tell them how much things cost when we travel together. The communication style was a bit awkward and uncomfortable.

GGeiorgiestravelsThis hotel has different room layouts so it is important to choose correctly. I initially booked the lower bunk with shared facilities which is in effect like having a bottom bunk in a hostel except here is a door to your own space. I shifted my arrival dates thus had to switch to a different room type: the single ensuite. I cost a bit more but was well worth it. I thought the room was well designed and the perfect solution for those who do not like to waste money on a hotel room…just want a clean and convenient place to sleep. The room had a single bed with an ensuite. The floor space was only sufficient to open the door, but other space was well designed. The space under the bed was sufficient for my multiple bags. Comfortable bed. Next to the headspace of the bed there were to shelves plus additional hooks to hang clothes…making 10 hooks in total….plus multiple hangers. Also next to the bed were additional light switches so you need not get up to turn off lights. There were two bottles of water, topped up each day, tissues, free earplugs and a small bin so while in bed you did not need to reach for the bin next to the bed or in the ensuite. These touches showed the thought put into the design during refurbishment of the space. The shower room was small but I had no problems. Shampoo and shower gel included as well as toothbrush and comb. Small mirror in ensuite and long mirror on wall. Wall mounted hairdryer. The towels are disposable type, not my preference and I used one alongside my travel towel. Housekeeping came each day to empty bins and top of water. The lady was very nice and upon noticing that I had been ill for a couple of days, inquired after my health and checked that I had medicine. There is a laundry; need to scan a QR code to use the program to pay. 8rmb for a wash and dry is a bargain. Near reception there is a microwave, water dispenser to get hot water, tea on tap as well as a wide selection of free tea bags, instant coffee as well as ground coffee machine & candies. The room has vents for air circulation on all the time (no windows) and a separate air conditioner control. When arriving I automatically turned on the air con, that night I felt uncomfortably warm. The aircon temp could not go lower than 18 which is reasonable except the temperature felt much higher than 18, and even though the fan speed sounded louder at different speeds it caused no movement in air. On the 2nd day I experimented with leaving the air con turned off….it was much cooler than when on so I did not use the air con again during my stay and was not too warm again. Location: West Nanjing road stop is on line 2 meaning no changes for Hongqiao or Pudong airports. It is also a connection for lines 12&13 making it easy to get anywhere in the city. The hotel is about 10-15min walk from the metro, which did not bother me at all, and I also made use of the many public bicycles. The hotel has responded to previous feedback as the instructions prior to check-in had detailed instructions from multiple dropping off points. I found the hotel no problem…it is on the 4th floor of a small building within a complex. When I went out on the first night, I came back to find that door locked, but it was easy to get back in by following the instructions from an alternative drop off point. Points to consider: - The walls of the ensuite are glass thus may be an issue if sharing a room - The walls are thin and sound travels so not good for a very light sleeper. I stayed 10 nights and on only 2 nights did I have a noisy neighbour - you may feel to cramped of travelling with large case. - the rooms on the inside have no windows. The continuous air circulation may cause dry eyes and throat when waking up. When in the room I sometimes left the door open to not feel stuffy. is new and modern. It was always clean. It is great value for money, especially considering it is in the city centre. I stayed 10 nights.
