My siblings recommended the Hangzhou New Century Hotel this time, and I really felt the location was great. It's close to West Lake and convenient for getting around, so the prime location definitely adds a lot of value. This hotel is an older business hotel; the facilities aren't new, but they are well-maintained. That's why I believe that when judging a hotel, the cleanliness details are the best indicator of its quality. Being clean and comfortable to stay in is much more important than whether the decor is new. It offers good value for money, and it would definitely be a great choice to stay here again on my next visit to Hangzhou."

"This hotel is quite close to Lingyin Temple and the Botanical Garden. The small courtyard is very comfortable, nestled by the mountains and a stream. There's a park nearby, which is great for walks. On the day we stayed, we received a complimentary travel photoshoot, and the tall, chubby guy who took our pictures was absolutely amazing! Highly recommend đ. However, some local villagers live within the hotel complex, and their cooking, motorcycles, and tricycles can be a bit disruptive. We reported this to the front desk on the first day, and the manager promptly contacted us, helped us switch to a room we liked, and even gave us a welcome gift. The room itself was very comfortable, and the overall design and layout were pleasing. My only minor complaint is that I'm not sure if the hotel doesn't provide hand soap and combs, as neither of our rooms had them. After bringing this up with the housekeeping manager, they were quickly provided. Every staff member was enthusiastic and greeted us warmly whenever we saw them. It truly felt like a home away from home, and I would definitely choose to stay here again."

"Even though I saw some reviews online mentioning the facilities were old, I decided to take a chance and book it anyway. To my surprise, my stay was fantastic! The room was spotless, and not nearly as old as some reviews suggested. The walls and bathroom were very clean with no strange odors. The mattress was just right â not too soft, not too firm â making for a very comfortable sleep. The hotel reception staff were also great. The location is excellent too; it's very close to the subway station and within walking distance of Hefang Street and Wuliu Lane. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby, including Laotou Youbao Xia and Fang Laoda, which are also not far. The hotel breakfast was very rich and varied. If I get the chance to visit Hangzhou again, I'll most likely choose this place."

AAnonymous UserEnvironment: I visited last month and wanted to come back again this month. The Xihu State Guest Hotel has a special charm that attracts many visitors.
Facilities: This time I stayed in Building 8, and the room was more spacious than in Building 2. The layout of the room, including the closet, shower, and toilet, was more rational. The biggest advantage was having a balcony, where I could sit and enjoy tea, listen to the rain, and watch birds â it was very pleasant in April.
Service: All the staff were professional and friendly, always ready to help. I ordered in-room dining, and all the cutlery and food were served at the same temperature as in the restaurant. Highly commendable đđ»
Cleanliness: The cleaners were enthusiastic and came to tidy up whenever needed. If I needed bottled water or tissues, the robot service was also very convenient. The robot would call the in-room landline âïž to notify guests. When I picked up my room card, the robot also guided me to the room (the hotel is very large).
First day's local welcome pastry: It had a date on it and was very fresh. It also tasted good.
Daily welcome fruit: Different each day, very fresh.
The breakfast buffet was very rich, and the lunch was also good. Some dishes were even from the Ziwei Hall menu, which could be enjoyed at the buffet.
My stay this time was very pleasant, and I will definitely come back again.

GGuest UserMy expectations were fully met, and the hotel lived up to the hype. The only minor drawback is that check-in isn't until 3:30 PM (though earlier check-in is possible if rooms are available), but this hotel is just incredibly popular.
The hotel boasts numerous rooms with an exceptionally high occupancy rate and a variety of room types. Stepping inside, there's a magical sense of calm. For the same price, you might only get a standard room in Shanghai, but here we enjoyed a lake view suite.
The service was also top-notch; my family felt right at home, praising the hospitality. It was money well spent.
Even during the holiday, the swimming pool and hot spring weren't overcrowded, which speaks to excellent management, as reservations are required. Since it's winter, swimming was a bit chilly. However, there's also a sizable, slightly warmer children's pool area, which is absolutely fantastic.

GGuest UserAlthough it is a four-star hotel, I feel that it is not much different from a five-star hotel, and the breakfast is also good. I feel that the service is particularly good. Because of the need, I asked for delayed check-out twice, and they agreed very quickly. In addition, the front desk waiters, one is Xiao Lu and the other is Xiao Wei, took the initiative to greet me when I returned to the hotel in the middle, asked me if I applied for delay, and updated my room card.

YYueguangzoumingquI called the hotel to request an extra bed even before checking in. The housekeeper, Xenia Doris, was incredibly enthusiastic. After adding her on WeChat, she provided excellent and attentive service throughout our stay. Not only did she arrange the extra bed, but she also sent complimentary fruit to our room and checked in daily to see if we needed anything else. The hotel's location is fantastic â it's convenient for getting everywhere. Next door is Kerry Centre with plenty of restaurants, and it's just a 10-minute walk to West Lake. We enjoyed strolls during the day and fireworks at night đ. We could also walk to Bai Causeway. The breakfast and gym were both good. Shangri-La is always a reliable choice, no matter where you go.

AAnonymous UserOverall, this was a good stay with some truly special aspects, but also a few areas that could be improved.
The hotel is quite remote, which makes it feel very private and peaceful, surrounded by nature such as the lake, forest, and mountains. Even though we visited other viewpoints around Qiandao Lake, this location felt more special because of its quiet and secluded setting. The hotel itself feels like a destination, with scenic viewpoints, a garden with a lake, a cave, and even trekking trails to explore.
The garden area includes a swan lake, which is a nice idea. However, the swans are kept in a very small netted space. It does not look great visually and feels restrictive for the animals, which took away from the experience.
The room was spacious and comfortable, with a very comfortable bed that was not too soft or too hard. Sound insulation was excellent, which made for great sleep. I also requested a firmer pillow, and it was provided quickly. The lake view room upgrade was a highlight. The view was stunning and made it hard to leave the room. If you stay here, I would strongly recommend booking a lake view room. The layout was nice, with both a balcony and a window view. The thick frame dividing the view slightly affected the overall feel, but it was not a major issue. The bathtub was also a nice addition.
Cleaning was good overall. The AC did not work very well during the hot midday hours, although it was fine at other times of the day.
Facilities such as the gym, yoga room, pool, and game room were nice additions. However, they felt quite standard for a five-star hotel, and I have experienced better quality in similar properties. One great feature was the free Tesla charging, but this was not communicated at all. We only discovered it by chance, which is a missed opportunity as it is a strong benefit.
Breakfast was acceptable but not at the expected level. The coffee and bakery were the weakest parts. Ordering is done via QR code instead of in person, which felt a bit impersonal for a luxury hotel atmosphere. Service during breakfast also felt a bit off, as staff seemed focused on their tasks and were not very proactive in guiding or prioritizing guests, which made the experience feel less warm and not the kindest.
Service was generally kind and friendly, but inconsistent at times. Some staff could benefit from additional training, as not everyone followed typical five-star service standards such as greeting guests or offering priority.
Another disappointment was the welcome fruit, which was included in our package but not provided on arrival. After we asked, a staff member came carrying items for multiple rooms in a bag and handed us just one apple and one peach. This felt unprofessional although something very small.
Another point worth noting is that the hotel was originally booked as an InterContinental, but about 1-2 weeks before arrival it was no longer part of the brand (somehow on Trip.com it still says intercontinental). Not sure if this impacted the experience, but overall it did feel slightly below what you might expect from that level, even though the stay itself was still enjoyable.
The hotel also offers free Tesla charging, which is a great feature. However, this was not communicated at all during or before our stay, and we only discovered it by chance. This feels like a missed opportunity, as it is a strong benefit that could add significant value for guests
I did not try lunch or dinner, so I cannot comment on those.
Overall, this is a very peaceful and unique stay with amazing natural surroundings and a beautiful lake view. However, some service and operational details need improvement to truly match a luxury standard.

GGuest UserOur stay at Banyan Tree Xixi was fantastic! Even though it's an older luxury hotel, the surroundings are absolutely stunning. You can tell the management, operations, and maintenance are top-notch. Strolling around the hotel morning and evening, there's beauty everywhere. The hotel also offers travel photography, and we even changed into qipaos to better immerse ourselves in the beautiful scenery â the photos turned out wonderfully! We stayed in a villa, which had a lush courtyard and a very high, bright ceiling in the room. It was my family member's birthday that day, and the hotel even sent a delicious strawberry cake đđ. Breakfast the next day was an even bigger surprise; the variety was extensive, and everything tasted great. The weather was perfect, so we sat by the outdoor stream, watching fish and ducks đŠ play, which was so lively and fun â a great start to the day. Banyan Tree left us with a wonderful impression.

Both the outermost 'Nine-Bend Cascading Waterfall' open-air atrium and the lobby's suspended ceiling walkway were absolute highlights for me. The staff are very service-oriented and pay attention to detail, which I really appreciate.
Now, for a couple of points I think could be improved: breakfast and room cleanliness. I've stayed at another property from the same group, Xiaoyao Manor, and the breakfast here was significantly inferior in terms of both variety and taste. As for room cleanliness, I found some dirt at the bottom of a glass and quite a few ants in the room, which seemed to appear out of nowhere.
Overall, my impression is that the hotel has fantastic design, a beautiful setting by Xiang Lake, and excellent staff. However, the breakfast doesn't quite match up, and there are some details in room cleanliness that need improvement.
