"When I first arrived at the hotel, I was actually very satisfied. The staff at the front desk, both male and female, were excellent. So, without hesitation, I immediately extended my stay for another night. The female staff even helped upgrade the room type for the second night, just so my mom could experience it – I really appreciate that. However, there were some aspects I wasn't too happy about. The musty smell in the room was quite strong, and even in the hallway. Even with the dehumidifier on, the smell was even on the pillows. The kids didn't fall asleep until past midnight, enduring both the musty smell and the loud noise of the dehumidifier throughout the night. Since I had already booked, it felt wrong to cancel the second night last minute, so I just bit the bullet and stayed. The next day, I had a meal at Jin Sha Restaurant, and my taste buds were thoroughly satisfied. Although expensive, it was indeed delicious."

"I took my daughter to see West Lake, and a friend recommended Shuizhixinju. When we arrived, the taxi driver thought it was the old Shangri-La building in front, which surprised me because it looked nothing like the pictures. It wasn't until a handsome bellhop came to pick us up in a golf cart that I understood. He told me about the 'West Lake Hotel' characters written by Guo Moruo and explained that Shuizhixinju was a new renovation of the old Shangri-La building. The golf cart drove us up the hill, and there was a fountain at the entrance. The lobby's new Chinese-style decor was exactly to my taste and matched my clothes perfectly. We got a room upgrade, and my daughter couldn't wait to join the afternoon handicraft class. I didn't expect much from the enamel coloring, but she brought back a beautifully made brooch, saying a special teacher taught her. It exceeded all my expectations. Let's talk about the room. I was warmly escorted there and completely stunned. I honestly had no idea before arriving that the room would be so smart. I also didn't know the mattress was automatically adjustable. They immediately swapped out the pillow for a more suitable latex one. I stayed at three hotels in Hangzhou, and Shuizhixinju gave me the best night's sleep. The complimentary laundry service was a huge help; we had been traveling for eight days across two cities before arriving, so it was perfect for washing some replacement clothes. Every night, the turndown service included a nourishing sweet soup, which was a very thoughtful touch. The Chinese breakfast's fried dough sticks (youtiao) and tea eggs are highly recommended. These are just a few of the most memorable points. Since we needed golf cart transfers for every entry and exit, the handsome bellhops were the people I interacted with the most. We always chatted a bit in the cart, and they left a great impression."

"By chance, I returned to Amanfayun after a year. Aside from a minor unpleasant incident during check-in (which was beyond their control), the overall experience was perfect. I noticed the changes the hotel has undergone in a year. For example, the Amanfayun sign at the intersection has been replaced (the old one had more character, haha). The room now has a new Bluetooth-enabled speaker and a capsule coffee machine. The welcome amenity has changed from four small snacks to two small packets in the minibar, and they've added Longjing beer and an extra luggage rack. However, they've maintained what should be kept, like not adding lights, smart toilets, or TVs – these are things I believe shouldn't change. The entire team was more vibrant, lively, enthusiastic, professional, and meticulous than last time. This visit, I truly felt that every staff member I met could immediately recognize me and address me by my surname. (When the shuttle was taking me to check out, I dropped some personal items on the road. A staff member I saw on the roadside called the front desk. I said I hadn't lost anything, and the front desk repeatedly confirmed with me, but the staff member was so sure it was mine. When they brought it over, it indeed was! 😄). The service was subtly predictive and attentive. The housekeeping auntie, seeing me wandering outside my room, told me I could ask the front desk if I wanted to tour a room, which I actually had been thinking of doing. 👍 At the time, I was wearing slippers, and the ground was a bit wet, so when she cleaned the room later, she left two extra pairs of slippers. She also noticed I used the coffee machine and boiled water for tea, so she placed extra bottles of water in that area. Charging cables were neatly coiled, and a mat was placed under my personal toiletries bag, among other thoughtful details. There was a warm welcome and send-off in every area. I found out that going to Faxi Temple would take half an hour on foot, and it was hot and humid with no other suitable transportation. I casually mentioned it in the breakfast restaurant, and the hotel immediately arranged a shuttle for me. It was an empty small road, and after a ten-minute walk after getting off, I arrived at the main entrance of Faxi Temple. I was the only one on the entire path, very serene. When they came to pick me up to return to the hotel, they thoughtfully prepared iced water and iced towels. At check-out, I saw a cute little cat lying on my bill, and finally, the staff members saw me off to the car. I look forward to my next visit. P.S. The hotel is a bit stingy with upgrades! I booked a package that included a free upgrade this time, but didn't get one, especially as a returning guest. ﾟ(ﾟ´ω`ﾟ)ﾟ｡"

"I brought my elderly mother to Hangzhou and we stayed at the Zixuan. We were very satisfied! The facilities, service, dining, and room types were all excellent. What I loved most was the wonderful combination of 'luxury + wild charm'. The luxury offered convenience and comfort, while the wild charm nourished our spirits and minds, and the pervasive aroma of essential oils served as the link between the two. Sleeping amidst the serene greenery of Yuhu Bay, with the sound of rain pattering on the roof and steps – endless misty rain, freely falling blossoms, winding paths leading to secluded spots, and moss-covered green steps. Drinking tea in the hotel's courtyard was simply delightful. Flower Harbor Viewing Fish, Leifeng Pagoda Scenic Area, Prince Bay Park, the southern entrance of Su Causeway, and Majiawan Pier are all within walking distance. Turtle Pond, Yuhu Bay, and Yu Qian Temple are very close by. If you're young, you can even walk to Quyuan Garden (Curved Courtyard and Lotus Pool in Summer) and Maojiapu. Getting to Hupao Spring is also easy; it's just a three-stop bus ride from Wuzhuangyuan Archway in Yuhu Bay. My mother had a relaxed, unhurried, and enthusiastic time, and I was so happy to be able to enjoy the beautiful Hangzhou spring so leisurely with her! I saw a couplet at Pinghu Qiuyue (Autumn Moon Over the Calm Lake) that read: 'If you want to compare West Lake to Xizi, then invite the bright moon to wait until next year.' This made me think: next year when I come to Hangzhou, I'll stay here again. Highly Recommended: Jiexiang Lou's 'sweet and sour spare ribs', 'steamed yellow croaker with scallions', 'soup-soaked pea shoots', plus there's a surprise after dinner at Jiexiang Lou~ Xiaoqing SPA, my mother slept very well after her treatment. Pay attention to the table arrangements and tea table floral arrangements – they are very unique."

"The room was nice and spacious, and the hand-rowed boat ride was enjoyable. The wetland was quiet with no other tourists, which was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, the bird-watching activity we were looking forward to was canceled due to rain, and there weren't many other free activities available. The complimentary fruit was a bit underwhelming. Other than that, the staff service was excellent."

"Back in Hangzhou, and this time I decided to try the Four Seasons Hangzhou at Hangzhou Centre, located in Wulin. The hotel is conveniently situated right above Hangzhou Centre, making it easy to get around. As expected from a Four Seasons, the quality is top-notch. This particular property is relatively new, with modern decor and amenities, which I really appreciate. The city view room had a rather average view, mostly blocked by tall buildings in front, and old residential buildings below. However, I could catch a glimpse of West Lake, which was a plus. The curtains and toilet were smart, and I slept very comfortably. While the breakfast selection wasn't huge, everything was meticulously prepared. The staff were also very enthusiastic. Overall, it was a very pleasant two-night stay. I do have a couple of minor suggestions: the closet area had some soundproofing issues – I could clearly hear conversations from the next room. Also, I didn't see a single piece of beef in the beef noodles at breakfast. While other dishes were refilled quickly, the beef topping was never replenished. Other than that, everything was excellent, and I would definitely choose Four Seasons again on my next trip to Hangzhou."

"The room design is incredibly unique with a lovely Chinese aesthetic. For our anniversary, the hotel upgraded us to a room with a view of the Qiantang River, and they even set up a romantic scene with a bottle of red wine for celebration. You can also contact guest services to have food deliveries brought directly to your room. Jessica at the front desk was very professional, provided clear explanations, and showed a dedicated and courteous attitude."

"From my personal experience, I was quite disappointed; it didn't meet my expectations. I first learned about this hotel a few years ago when it made it onto the '50+ Best Hotels' list, and as someone who particularly enjoys hotel staycations, I had high hopes for this one. First off, in terms of location, the hotel is situated at one of the entrances to Xixi Wetland, so the environment is undeniably beautiful. The parking lot doesn't have sunshades, but the staff were very thoughtful and helped cover my car with a sun cloth. The hotel is designed as a resort, but some public areas felt a bit messy. While it embraces the natural wetland ecology and aims to preserve its original state, it just ended up looking disorganized. It didn't quite feel like a luxury hotel, nor did it fully embody the resort concept. The public areas of the hotel aren't particularly large, but getting around wasn't very convenient. Do I really have to walk everywhere every time I leave my room? Or is there a shuttle service that the staff just didn't tell me about? The service, however, was impeccable. The staff were all very friendly and tried their best to accommodate my requests for the room, which was excellent. The hotel is showing its age a bit; the curtains, sliding doors, and tatami mats all had varying degrees of damage. The room design is quite classic and elegant, and for a hotel built years ago, it still holds up well. However, at this price point, shouldn't the hotel strive for higher quality? Perhaps invest in some maintenance and upkeep for the rooms? I believe that nowadays, people are willing to pay for good service, and you get what you pay for. Human service has its limits; after all, there needs to be a certain distance in social interactions. But the service and comfort provided by the facilities have no ceiling. At the same price point, hotels really compete on their hardware and facilities, with human service playing a smaller role. I look forward to seeing significant improvements the next time I visit Hangzhou and stay at your hotel!"

"Hidden within the Hupao mountain forest, 'Xi Shang Hupao 1934' is a hotel housed in a Republican-era mansion. Stepping through the serene bamboo path into the hotel, you're immediately cut off from the city's hustle and bustle, with only birdsong and the rustle of leaves filling the air. The building is a historic villa dating back to 1934, meticulously restored to its original glory. The old brick walls and wooden beams retain the texture of time, creating a wabi-sabi aesthetic that's full of character. There aren't many rooms, and each is named after a flower or plant. The soft furnishings, made of raw wood and cotton-linen, feel warm and comfortable. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer direct views of the lush mountain greenery. The amenities are thoughtfully curated, including a Dyson hairdryer and a Marshall speaker. The minibar is complimentary and restocked daily. Soaking in the bath while watching the tree shadows outside, you can feel yourself completely relax. The butler service is attentive and meticulous, and the Crescent Restaurant boasts an elegant ambiance. Located very close to Hupao Park, this is a quiet and secluded retreat by West Lake, perfect for those looking to escape the crowds and enjoy some peaceful relaxation. The experience was truly delightful."
